So this morning I went to the range before I was going to go play 18 holes. I was mostly hitting driver and I felt good, my swing felt good and I was carrying it over a little hill at the end of the range which is about 255 yards out, I played 18 holes and came back to the range that afternoon and I was all of the sudden hitting it very short. There was no wind during both range sessions. I hit quiet a few balls after my round because I couldn't get picked up for another hour or so and I didn't want to practice putting cuz the greens just got airated. I am afraid hitting all those balls might have done something while I was tired because the ball was going a good 10-15 yards shorter, could it have been I was just tired or is there maybe something I kind of messed up in my swing?

You were probably tired. That or:

1) different range balls

2) Drop in temperature

3) Change in wind

If not a combo of those things.

You could keep a small camera handy and check to see what was wrong when you get home.

I wouldn't put much stock in one range session. If this happens consistently and weather conditions are the same before and after you play, then it is probably time to work on your fitness a little. Maybe you just had a little adrenaline going before you played. Almost everyone discovers the first few times they play competitively that they suddenly are 1/2 club longer than in casual rounds.

Ok, but it seems like I hit the ball 10 yards farther about 3 weeks ago just in general off the tee. It may just be all in my head but Could it be I have been doin less workin out or maybe a swing fault? What are the best excersizes to do at home without like weights and crap? I do push ups and they help but I think I want more rotational power. What are some of the best excersizes you know of to get this? I would like to see 15 more yards if possible.

Don't mean to change the subject too much, but I only have a couple tourney's under my belt and I've experienced this consistently each time, more to the extent of a full club (casual round 9 iron is like 136, tourney 9 goes 149).  Does this instance fade away once you grow accustomed to competition, or does it continue on?

I know, back in my competitive swimming, on competition days, I'll definitely pull out times that I am not capable of on a normal practice day.

It is probably not the same for everyone, but any time you have extra adrenaline then as long as you make a good swing you will probably be a bit longer.  The important thing is to be aware of how much you are affected.  I would bet Tom Watson just didn't allow for his adrenaline when he hit that shot just a bit to far at the 2010 British.

Review the fitness forum.  There are different opinions, but core, flexibility, some type of strength training and cardio training are all potentially beneficial.
