Sent in a quote for some KZG Evolution irons the other day....YIKES!!!  They are as much as Scratch irons.......I thought they'd be more along the lines of Wishon prices....

KZG is top of the line, just because they are an OEM people think they are cheap but they are generally only 0%-10% cheaper then current competing models from Titlist, Callaway or TaylerMade.

They are not cheaper.  KZG Evolution with Dynamic Gold shafts are $123 per club.  I think most Titleist irons run $112.50 per club.....I didn't expect them to be "cheap" but I expected them to be reasonable- around $80-90 per club....

KZG really is expensive.  But, if you want a club to be built to EXACT specs, it is hard to find a company that will do it as well.  I was invited to attend a 3 day fitting school to make sure I understood the extensive process of fitting, building, and following up.  I learned a lot about KZG and golf clubs in general.  The most important thing I learned?  Let KZG build the clubs themselves.

The heads must be checked for lie, loft, weight and appearance.

The shafts must be weight sorted, frequency analyzed, flex sorted, trimmed, checked again for frequency, and more.

The team who is putting your clubs together at KZG builds thousands of sets per year and really knows his stuff.

Not to mention that the heads are one of the best Japan forged irons on the market.

I don't trust anyone other than the PGA tour van to do as good of a job as KZG!

And remember, you are going to own this set for multiple years.  An extra $20 per club over 3 or more years is less than the coins in your cup holder.

Unless you are a certified master club-builder, you'll have a hard time finding a product this good built to exact specs!

P.S.  I had 3 holes in one in 40 days this spring with my KZG tour evolution PW!

KZG sells heads to master club builders.  They take it from there.  They truly are a superior product.

I guess this is a case of "you get what you pay for."

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
