Sooooo, I have a problem! I have really been struggling with distance the past year but today I stumbled upon something interesting. It seems when I stop my follow through at my waist my shots go about 20 yards further than my normal swing....Answers? Yes, the more I follow through the shorter my shots go. Makes no sense to me. Anytime I go for a swing analysis I feel terribly uncomfortable but that's only indoors, yet to try outside. I am all over the place on the launch monitor. I'm 50/50 between a swing speed of 75 mph or 110 mph which also doesn't make any sense. The friends I play with tell me my swing speed looks and sounds very fast but I do play a regular shaft on all clubs. I believe my next step is to get analyzed on an launch monitor where I am a little more comfy. Any thoughts are appreciated.

The clubs on my sig a are not accurate. Bought a razr hawk driver, speed line fast 3w and TM 19 and 25 rescues. Not like it makes a diff....

I saw something by Iacas(?) somewhere on here where he had a drill where you would try to stop the club as soon as possible after impact. Similar to the Bruce Lee 1 inch punch. Apparently this can generate a helluva lotta clubhead speed, not sure what it does to accuracy though. It was just a drill, I don't think anyone was advocating its use during a round.

If that is true, I'd say you're flipping your wrists too much on the full swing.  By trying to shorten the follow-through, you insure follow through towards the target and the wrists relax enough to make solid contact with minimal flipping.  I remember watching the PGA tournament this last weekend, and they were doing the slow-mo of somebody's swing, and they commented that the forward shaft lean at impact with irons is crucial.  This forward shaft lean reduces that flipping motion.  Idk if this is what you might have been doing on those shorter swings, but it is a possibility.
