Ive never been able to hit my driver consistently the r7 quad.  However I recently got a 909 f2 fairway with the voodoo shaft which I find perfect for me I believe its 70 odd grams.  Ive always prefered lighter shafts in my driver to get more swing speed so recently put in a 55g nvs which is now ballooning but i still like the weight however now ive got an out to in swing i believe because its a driver and i always "try" to hit it far rather than let the club do the work.  Im now thinking of going for a heavier shaft like 70g as well to maybe give me more control and keep me in sync well that help?

the NVS has the same "body flex" as the NV but the tip is much softer which causes you're ballooning.  try a lighter weight stiff tip shaft like the NV 55g.

my swingspeed is 105+ and i still use stiff flex shafts, i just trim the tip to fit my "feel".

Something to share about shafts. My SS is about 102 +. over the years , I have used PF V2 65g R ( tipped 1 inch ) on a 905T in 2007 PF V2 57g S on a Snakes Eyes Viper Tour in late 2009 , I try to get more speed by getting a lighter shaft , did gain about 5 to 10 yards . Then this Feb , I got fitted a 910D2 with Mitsubishi Rayon Kai'li 70 gram Stiff . I hit furthest among 3 of my drivers. Easily 10 % more than my 905 T . In April , I got the 910F 15deg with Mitsubishi Rayon Kai'li 80 gram stiff to get the same feel of my driver and I m hitting average 240 -250 y average from the tee. Best is to go to try out the shafts with different weight , and get the best one for you . One thing that I notice , the lighter the shaft , the tip seems to be less stable. Even form the same brand and stiffness , just like the PF V2 s that i have .
What I Play:
913D3 9.5°Diamana Kai'li 70 Stiff  "C3" | 910F 15°, Diamana Kai'li 80 Stiff "D2" | 910H 19°,  Diamana Kai'li for Titleist 85 Hybrid Stiff | Titleist 714 AP2 4 to P Aerotech Steelfiber i110 S | SM4 Vokey 50.12, 54.14 & SM5 60.11K| 34" Edel Umpqua + 40g Counter Weight

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
