I usually play a couple nice rounds a year away from my home course and am interested in this one. Anyone have any opinions or thoughts?

I have heard nothing but great things about Pine Hills.  I've heard different opinions about which course is better (Nicklaus or Rees Jones), but overall, those I know who have played there have loved it.  Also in Plymouth is Waverly Oaks, which has been saved as Hollywood East plans were cancelled - heard that this is another really nice track.

I need to start checking these places off the bucket list (hitting Red Tail next week which is a good add for the still-young season).

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Red Tail is a great Track. I always play it in the fall during foliage season because of the scenary, but it's great year round. My wife found some half off passes for Pine HIlls yesterday, so I'm going to get that one on the books.

Where did the wife found these passes?  This is a sweet deal.

I think she found them on Groupon. Next time there's something local I will shoot you an IM, as you usually only have 24 hrs to buy

Cool.  And, I will spring for the beverage of your choice at Maplegate.

    • It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
