Hello, this is my first post, and I really need some help. I have an old burner 09 or 08 driver that cracked, and I have an old R7 that is gonna give at any time. I tried out a new R11 on 18 today and honestly did not like it. I like the R7 a lot and the burner was decent at best. Maybe if I hit the R11 more I would like it (range, more rounds to get used to it). I just seemed to slice it to an extreme and with the R7 I don't have much of a slice at all. One note, my R7 has a much smaller head than the R11 or Burner which could lend to me hitting it better than the others. Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm a mid-handicapper and hit ping g5 irons with cleveland wedes (if that helps at all).

A lot of people who were R7 fans were r9 fans. Alot of peole who were r9 fans found the r11 to be worse.

I have not personal experiance so I wont give you any direct advice but it seems to me from what Ive read that the R11 is not worth the price tag.

I recently bought a Ping Rapture out of the used club bin.  I have only played with it a couple of times but it is the most forgiving driver I have ever had.  Best $100 I  spent in the Pro Shop in a long time.

well now I have a new question:

I have a r7 quad..is there a difference between the r7 and r7 quad?? also is the r7 quad anything like the r9 supertri?? Sorry I've only been playing golf a few years so I don't know much about clubs.

I just switched to the R11 from the G10. I never warmed up to the R7 or R9, but after having spent several hours with it on the range and on the computer, I pulled the trigger. I love the club coming from my Ping - which I thought I would finish one more season with FWIW.

Just an FYI, taylormade is very good about replacing products that crack with the newer model. I have a friend that cracked his r7 superquad, sent it back to taylormade, and they sent him a brand new r11! It might be worth a shot and get a new burner superfast 2.0 then either sell it or trade it in for a driver that you really want.

Check out the Adams F11, doesn't get as much press as some others but it flat out performs.  It was the clear winner for me when I hit pretty much everything at a demo day a few months back.

well here's the update:

Bought a F11 off of ebay for 130 in NEW condition!! Great club, tried it out at a shop about 30 minutes away from me. I also got a Adams A7 3 Hybrid off of ebay for 70 and hopefully can get a 3 wood soon then my clubs will be complete..for now. Thanks for all the feedback really helped a lot I actually wrote down everything you guys told me and tried them all out. The R9 Supertri is what I almost bought. Hit it pretty good as well, but the forgivness and length of the F11 is through the roof and it looks great.

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
    • Day 12 - 2025-12-31 Limited time today, and heavy rains here. 5-10 minutes of mirror work for full swing, working on trail side.
