I have never been to a golf tournament before but was thinking about getting tickets to this.  Decently priced and the course is only about a half hour from my house.

So has anyone ever been there before? If so how was it?

My dad is a long time member at Aronimink, and I went to the tournament on Wednesday and Thursday of last year.  If you can go on Thursday or Friday it's a better deal: more players to see before the cut is made, and the crowd, while large, won't be as bad as on the weekend.  The course is beautiful and tough, but it's not the best venue for following groups around- not that easy to get real close to the players. But, if you've never been to a pro tournament, it will be a great experience. I'm going again this year- I live in Honolulu, and I'm flying in for the holiday weekend with family.

Cool I think I am going to go.

Think it would be okay if I brought my camera with me (Nikon D40 with a decent size lens) or do they have restrictions on photography?

Edit: Nvm just found the answer to this, no cameras after Wednesday : (

I decided to get tickets, should be pretty fun.  If anyone can find a roster of who is playing can you direct me to it! For some reason I can't find it anywhere (maybe its not up yet?)

I went a couple yrs ago when it was last at Congressional.  I used to live in Center City Philadelphia and know a lot of people are planning on attending this year.  I need to ask them about the course transportation logistics compared to Congressional.

Btw, I do not think you'll be able to get your Nikon in there!

I was going to go...I only live about 45 minutes north of Aronimink. I've never been to a gold tournament before either.

But now that Tiger is not playing, I'm probably not going to go. (I am a huge Tiger fan and that's why I was going). My uncle lives right near Aronimink Golf Club and he said it looks like a really nice course, and from what I've seen on television, I agree. It could become a major championship location sometime in the future.

I figured Tiger was not going to play when I got tickets but there still should be some big names there.  Would have been awesome if Tiger was there though.

Anyone else going to be there tomorrow? Trying to decide what time to get there.  Most of the better players tee off around 12-1 so I was thinking about getting there around 11.

i've been going since 2009, and have to say its a great time. even snuck a snapshot of tiger on the 17th green when he won at congressional :) i'll be going sunday, wish i was going saturday too since i have 4 tix and only gonna use 2. i have military passes that i recieved free through work and if anyone could/would have a use for them let me know in a pm.

      Yeah, let's just ignore that there were only 5-10 great players back then… 🤣 Ha ha ha. Whatever you guys have to tell yourselves… Tiger won MAJORS 22 years apart. That's a long time. He wasn't missing the top ten on the money list because he sucked, it's because he didn't play due to injuries.

      Pretty accurate.  Another way you can look at it is how many years was Jack top 10 on the money list. It used to be the list that mattered, nothing else came close. Jack was top 10 from 1962-1978 and then once more in 1983 making 18 years total. He had another 4 inside the top 20. He was #1 8 times.  Tiger was top 10 from 1997-2009, 2012-2013, and 2018 which is 16 times total. His next best were 24th and 38th in 2019-2020. He was #1 10 times.  Honestly, they're both pretty long but Jack has quite a few more seasons in the upper ranks. Makes sense when Tiger barely played in 2010-2011 and then again from 2015-2017, and pretty much 2020 onwards. That's not an excuse for Tiger though.

      Played three and a half rounds in England last week. I will not be playing more than maybe 4 rounds on any one course. Probably only about 20 rounds all year and between 4 and 8 of those will be alternate shot, so don't really count. Off to a pretty good start though. Three and a half rounds gave me 5 birdies and an eagle (with two of those birdies being on the same hole number).
