I used to love watching Camilo play. For a while it seemed like he was always in contention and was destined for a great career. Now, it seems as though he's struggling to put the ball in the cup. What's going on with him?

He closed out last year pretty decently, began this year with a DQ, MC, and WD in three of his first four events. He hasn't finished better than T33, which was in the WGC Match Play (T33 can be achieved there by showing up, letting your opponent his a shot, and conceding the match. Although that's not what he did; he lost to Holmes in the first round... who got in at the last minute and I don't think had a practice round). Last year he was playing Cobra. Now he's playing TaylorMade. He's 153rd and 172nd in FIR and GIR, respectively (versus 126 and 127 last year). He's effectively hitting one fewer fairway and one fewer green per round. But wait, his scoring average is 2 shots higher. That's giving away 4 shots to the cutline and 8 to the field if he makes the cut. He's in the top 100 for very few season stats. Hmm... I wonder if "What happened to Camilo?" would be a good numbers game article. Because this post has me thinking now...

Does anybody know who is cadding for him? I heard a couple of weeks ago he fired his. Sure hope that Brett would come back, he's struggling on the Nationwide tour.

I completely forgot about Brett. Yeah, he's struggling on the Nationwide Tour, but if I were him, I'd give it the rest of the season. But yeah, missing one's long time success caddy can't be easy on Camilo.

The game comes easy to no one.
