Im sure you all heard he's practicing, working on his putting and hopefully putting some of that natural talent to use. Does he win one or more and get his card back.. or slip back in to his old ways? I guess if you're a Daly fan you cross your fingers.

JD has always had good touch with the short game, and hell most weeks when Tiger and Phil aren't entered, just about everyone in the field has a chance to win.... Hopefully he does win one, regain his card, dosen't remarry or fall into old habits and let his natural talents shine instead of waste...

C'mon JD git er done!

Maybe this the wake-up call JD needed, I hope he sticks around for a while. Although with all the exemptions that he will and may get, I'm not worried that he'll disappear.

I just hope he can get into contention a little so instead of just seeing one or two monster, dog-leg-cutting, 400 yd drives and an occasional putt for eagle on the highlight reel, we can watch more of the purest, most complete game since Ben Hogan.

Okay, maybe that was overdoing it.

But yes, I am a JD fan

Well that is the first time I have heard of JD being compared to a leopard or zebra... usually it is buffalo or rhinoceros.

Hehe.

What if JD does not win this year? Will he likely be able to crack the top 125 money list with his limited exemptions simply by "playing well"? How well?

Although I am a fan, I am not sure he has the stuff. I think his best chance is to play often and well anough to get into the top 125. The unfortunate part of JD is his awesome "wasted" natural talent. I love the guy, but I don't think he has the drive or good enough work ethic to be what he can. I do believe he has the ability to be an awesome contender, just not the patience.

He has enough that he'll be able to earn his card. If his showing at the Sony was any indication, he can only improve the more he works on his game. With distractions like his (ex)wife gone. If he makes a few top tens, some top 25's, and has a couple really good showings there is no reason to believe getting his card isn't realistic.

Hi

i agree with Clubswinger21, he should get into the top 125 if he keeps his head screwed on tight-but we know what happens when JD gets a big win, its party time.JD should stop this and keep focused.

If JD doesn't do so well this year he will still get invitations because of the media hysteria that surrounds him and who he is-whether you think this is fair is another matter.

I think JD must hire a new team who can prepare him better in every aspects of the game (marketing, management, mental and physical, etc. etc.)

He must understand that he is no longer just a golf player. He is a brand. Thus, he needs to elevate his game to a different level than in the past.

Younger and more fierce players are coming in the Tour every year. If he wants to compete against them, he really needs to "upgrade" his game (both physical and mental).

Good Luck JD! We love ya!!!!

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.
