It seemed to me based on Johnny Miller's commentary that he would describe a hook that starts right and misses left as a pull hook and I'm assuming a shot that starts right hooks and still misses right would then be a push hook.

This isn't the standard convention I'm familiar with, which is it?

Additional info, they showed Rory's shot on protracer a number of times and he usually started the ball down the right side and curved it into the left rough and this was repeatedly called a pull hook.

If it starts right of the intended target and draws over (hook as commentators like to say), then its a push draw, if the ball starts left of the intended target and draws further left, its called a pull draw, for a right handed player.

Johnny Miller always changes his definitions of shots during the broadcasts. Shots that clearly start right and hook, he often calls them a 'pull'.

It appears to me that Johnny Miller doesn't know what is going on half the time. I don't get how they have him as a commentator at all
