I am going on Vacation and want to add some courses to my UPRO.  When I go to the website it is updated to something great and new!  I am unable to sync anything.  I tried a windows 7 machine, and an xp machine.

I called support and a message said we are very busy please call back and hung up.

So it appears my GPS will be useless on my vacation, nice.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to sync?

It is hard to understand why Callaway is having financial problems.

Look for my new thread on which skycaddy is best.

Try the Garmin G3 or G5.  They work great, no additional fees or subscriptions after purchase, and it's a Garmin, the world leader in consumer GPS.  When I bought my G5, I immediately installed the latest update from Garmin's website and that was it.  I'm good to go.  Been using it for most of a month now and I love it.

My buddy has the G5 I have to play with it a bit more.  I'd really hate to have to invest in a new one.

I smell a class action suite.  I have never seen anything like this.  The house is burning down and they are advertising what is essentially gasoline like crazy only making the problem worse.

I updated my upro last night without a single problem so I'm not sure what would be causing your issue. Did you try to do a full reset and reload everything I had to do it one time but it worked perfectly.

That's strange. I updated mine a few days ago without a problem as well. How do you typically sync it?

I plug the usb cord in then turn it on. Then once it boots up I just select connect to PC.Then double click the upro finder on my computer

then a Internet explorer pops up then log in.

How far do you get in the process?

I was on the new Upro website which I was lead to register for with my old id and password.  Are you guys using the old site?

I'm using the new site. Did you bookmark the old site? If you did and you attempt to use it, more then likely it won't work.

I know this may sound stupid, but when i plugged the unit into a different usb port it didn't work. Once I plugged it into the usb port i typically use it synced right up. maybe this may help.

Your old credentials will not work on the new site - you need to follow the steps it gives you to create a new account. Did you follow the instructions at http://callawaygolf.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41 ?

I had trouble when I first tried registering for the new site without having the uPro plugged in, but once I plugged the uPro in and ran the finder app, everything went smoothly.

I have tried it but it asks me to type in the 2 words shown but there are no words shown to type in. Any help would be welcomed.

Thanks

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
