C'mon, this guy's got to win here. The way he's played.. 6 top 10's out of 9 showings.. I hate to mention the collapse last year. Would you put your money on him this week or someone else? Then who would your pick(s) be if you're not already in the fantasy golf pool?

Mike Weir starts playing well at this time of year.. I would not be suprised if he had top tens at Pebble and Riviera etc..

I'm in the Sand Trap PGA Tour Golf Fanasy League (or whatever it's called) and I, for one, didn't pick Mike Weir. Of course, since I'm only in 9th place, you can't count on my picks (or non-picks) as being particularly reliable. If none of my picks wins, Mike Weir in the winner's circle Sunday afternoon would be AOK with me.

doesnt look like its going to happen this year. Seems like he struggles when he's expected to win somewhere.

At this point, I can't tell you how happy I am that I DIDN'T pick Weir in the Sand Trap PGA Tour Golf Fanasy League (or whatever it's called).

If you're a Weir fan, you'll remember '03 when he was ranked number 3 for a brief period and had 3 wins. And then in '05 he got the flu and slept wrong which changed his swing, he also tried to drop the waggle which didnt work for him. He hasnt been the same since. 2 mid pack finishes before the missed cut at Pebble so I wouldnt be chalking this up to an injury yet. He plays the next 5 weeks in a row, including the Johnnie Walker so I guess we'll find out soon enough.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
