After a few years, I am still using a Titleist 983K 9,5º with Aldila NVS65 Stiff.

I have tried (not owned):
Callaway FT-i, FT-5 and Big Bertha 460
Taylormade 425TP and Superquad

but was not that impressed, except with the Superquad. l have not tried (but dying to) the Titleist D2 and the Cleveland XLS

Truth of the matter is that my driving isn´t my problem. I am well above average in length, with a slight draw. My course management and short game is what kills me !!!

I use a Titleist 905R +YS-6. One thing that has always been pretty consistent with me and Tity drivers has been that you get what you put into it.

If it's a bad swing you're going to get bad results..period. I have also noticed though that the misses don't penalize severely though. For me, it's been a dead shot right or left. The misses, for me, don't seem as harsh as some of you drivers that balloon the ball into the next fairway.

I'm still using the R5 and will for a while yet. I am going to change out the shaft this year. I dont really care what name is on the head. I think there is too little credit given to the value of having the right shaft in place.

I totally agree. The head really doesn't make much of a difference. It's all about getting the right shaft.

Absolutely agree with that, but the 905 requires that you put a LOT into the shot, if you don't the shot quality goes way down. Other drivers are more forgiving as far as giving fairly good results with not a lot of effort.

If you're young and strong or just strong :) and can really put a lot into a shot, then this is a great driver, it has a great sound and feel and the ball will both carry and roll out with a real good shot shape.

I just purchased the Taylor Made Tour Burner. It should be in on Friday, and I plan on putting it in play over the weekend. I've heard some really good things about this driver.......we'll see...........

I use a TaylorMade R580. I like it, but I wish the loft was lower.

Right now, I use a Taylormade Tour Burner(see sig.), but I'm really tempted to try the Ping G10, not to say that I'm not satisfied with the Tour Burner because I am, but the G10 is so tempting, although I think I have to wait at least another season before I change my Tour Burner since it's still pretty new ...

I have just liked the Titleist and use it. I have used Callaway in the past and have recently started using Titleist and I like them much better.

Was using a Taylor Made R5 Dual N in 10.5 but didn't like the stiff flex, returned it and just picked up a Nickent 3dx square in 12* with regular shaft. Seems pretty good so far but man it's loud.

My friend just bought one of those used for $25 bucks at golfsmith. At first I was thinking, what kind of crappy driver can you get for $25 but when I saw it I was pretty impressed. MacGregor is a joke in most other sports but I guess their Mactec line is respectable in golf.

    • Day  3 (4 May 24) - Easy pitch day with 9i in the backyard.  Worked on staying smooth thru impact, keeping shots to 20yds or less.
    • From what I’ve read, it was in the manufacturing process and how the covers were nicking pretty easy.  He has had to resource his factory as the one used earlier is now a TM owned facility.  Initial reports seem to indicate the redesign is going to be a winner…
    • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
