Just curious but a buddy of mine told be about a "cheat" where you put chapstick on the face of your drive and it will pretty much cut out your slice all together and actually add some distance due the damn near no spin at all? Anybody ever heard of this?

Years ago before I quit for many years I was a nut for keeping my stuff clean etc.etc.  I played exclusively with a Hogan GCD irons.  I was a nut for not letting the shafts show wear and tare so after every round I would clean them and armour all the shafts and wipe down the heads cause it made them look good and made the red lettering stand right out.  Started doing that to my woods and driver too.  The armour all on the heads does the same thing.  Didn't know it at the time that it was against the rules if it got on the club head till my brother told me.  But I did notice a very very noticeable difference in ball flight and length with the 975D I was playing with, but not so much with the irons.  thanks

Lee Travino talked about this, were he would do this when he was playing for money before he joined he tour. They would put Vaseline on there club, it only worked once, but its good to use on the first shot to send a message.
