Been at the range about 15 times or so with these pings I got but the shafts were to stiff for my swing,

getting TT Lite regular flex with lamkin crossline grips, I'm looking foward to swinging these clubs with the right flex for my swing.

How much better consistency will I have since I'm getting them built for my specs.

Also, anyone use these shafts? Opinions appreciated ..

I used the TT Lite XL in my irons and am very happy with them.  Tried many different types in a 6 iron before deciding on these.  My TT Lite's are a little heavier than what you will get though, mine are .370" straight which are 128g raw.  Your Pings are .355" tapered, and are 113g raw for the R flex.

those are nothing compared to the ZZ-lite shafts.....i got to the first tee and was playing the tips, it was a par 5 535 yds and i pulled 7 iron. the group ahead of me was on the green and as i lined up to hit the marshall stopped me after admiring the clubs in my bag "sir stop! youre going to have to wait for that group to clear the green!" of course i understood but i told him i was just going to flight it down and shape it around the bunker sitting at 240.

i hope somebody else gets this :)

I think I saw you. You were the guy with a 100 person gallery watching in awe and a supermodel caddying for you because your just that good looking. Looked like you were negotiating a big deal all the while punch fading to a 3 under par. I went to touch the hem of your garment but you had sped away in your BMW with yet another supermodel before I could pay tribute. You sir, posses the balls of every man that ever lived and it's all thanks to your clubs.

The penetrating ball flight that you get with the ZZ-lite shafts is just incredible

My stock shafts are karsten model but not zz-lite, the ping guy said it was just one z in the model, so i'm guess z65 maybe? Oh well, I can't hit stiff for anything, maybe 2 out of 6 shots lol.

Well, if anyone cares, got my pings back today with brand spanking new TT Lite XL shafts, had them extended a quarter inch in length.

Also got those stock Ping grips that come on the G series irons.

They feel execellent :)

I am re-shafting with TT Lite XL in a set of 1985 Ping Eye 2's.

I delofted the set by 2-3 degrees already and I was planning to go 1/2" longer than stock.

What are your thoughts on this?

    • My flop shots are 6-7° down (AoA). Does that answer it? 😄  The longer answer is… You have to be able to do both shots.
    • I hope you don't mind me raising this one from the dead. I got shortgamechef's video access thing for a few months in 2024. I watched his yip fix videos (the general gist is similar to the first video above, but with a lot more detail) and it made a lot of sense. I was working on it in my backyard off a mat for a while and my yippy thing was mostly gone. Aside from anything else, the flop shot using that technique is so easy and controllable. But I got onto a golf course for the first time of the year and found myself by the green on a downslope with the ball sitting down a little in the rough and I was, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ed. Shallow is all well and good from a good flat lie and I understand it, but you can't make that your be all and end all. I still don't know if it's a good idea to use steep all the time or just when you need to. I have a hard enough time with one technique, let alone too.  Just got a pitching skillest lesson with Erik and unless I misunderstood things some, he wants me a bit steeper. @iacas - where do you fall on the steep vs shallow argument and how do you vary it according to need?
