I'm heading down to atlanta for the wednesday practice round of the PGA, and I was wondering before I buy tickets if wednesday is the best day to go?  Also, are there set tee times, what time should I try to get there, and can I bring a folding chair with me?  I'm hoping some of you know from experience, any answers or other information are greatly appreciated!

P.S., its not my first pro golf event, (masters, nationwide tour stops), but it is the first practice round I'm going to.

I have looked at the guide before, but I just wanted everyone's opinion on what the best day to go is, if there are tee times etc., just things you wouldn't really know unless you had been

My only practice round experience has been at the Masters, but I would assume that other tourneys might be the same.

There are set tee times, but you will not know who is set to tee off until the morning of.  As an example, Augusta National had signs posted with who is on the range, and when they are scheduled to tee off (assuming that they will) and whether it will be on the front or back.  They did change quite often, but at least it gave you an idea of who was going to be on the course that day and whether it would be AM or PM before they did course work.

Not much info, but I hope it helps.

Went to the U.S. Senior Open in 2004 at Bellerive C.C.  Tuesday and Wednesday are both good days to go.

As DoubleB said, there are posted tee times, but not everyone shows up at the exact time. Sometimes travel delays. If you have a short list of favorite golfers, you should be able to follow one or two of them. If you just want golfer X, he might be a no-show.

Also, some players will practice early in the week, and not do much on Wednesday so they can start fresh.

During practice rounds you can usually ask players for autographs, whereas during tournament it's usually before and after rounds only. Also, I've had players chat with me a little during practice rounds, but rarely during the tournament rounds.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I thought you might find the answer to your question about the folding chair.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

    • Day 45 (27 Dec 25) - played at one of the sisters courses to my home course.  Solid session through the bag….of the 7 pars, 4 were up and down 1 putts (wedges were dialed in) from 6’ or less.  Off the tee - solid, irons were consistent even it a bit under on distances.  Course management was on - stayed the course even with a few offline recovery shots required…
    • Day 453 - 2025-12-27 Two things today for about 48 balls (I like to hit three or six balls at a time before taking a small break to pick them up): Right leg stays flexed a bit, internal rotation on the backswing. Kept my eyes looking at the ball and trusted that the backswing was fine.
    • Day 137 12-27 Worked on wider backswing today and tried to remain flowy. Recorded face on and down the line. Swing is looking better but I mentally felt off today, just frustrated. Tomorrow's a new day!
    • Day 8 - 2025-12-27 45 minutes of short game work at local muni, mostly putting work. Trying to get lots of reps in with consistent quality tempo.
    • I guess I'll stay at -16 for this year's challenge.  I never birdied holes 7, 13 (the 2 hardest holes) in 2025.  Also had a couple Eagle putts on the par 5's, but didn't convert either time.  Looking forward to 2026, though!
