I  believe our current president hates America.  His wife gets up and says this is the first time in her life she has been proud of her country when either he got nominated or elected (not sure which).  I think that is a very telling statement.  Typically you marry people who are like you and have the same values.  Your not proud of defeating the Nazis, liberating millions.  There are so many things that we have done that are great.  There are also a bunch of black eyes.  Also the pastor he went to forever bashed us and white people and he kept on going.  And then after he is elected he apoligizes to other nations for this and that.  I just don't believe he loves our country and wants it to be like the western europe model with more government and less freedom.  There are too many symptoms of US dislike to not be the truth.  I'd kill for hillary. (not really)

The debt debate is rediculous.  We should never be in the position where we have to borrow money to pay the bills.  That is just stupid and gives other nations (china) leverage and control of us.  The president gets up and tells the world we might default on our debt.  We will not.  We will pay our creditors, SS, medicare/medicaid, and the military.  We have enough coming in for that.  But instead there is a big scare fest to make the big bad GOP look bad, and all it is doing is making america look bad.

I am sure about everyone can agree we need to simplify our tax codes, quit picking winners and loosers through subsidies through the government/taxes, reform healthcare in a way that reduces cost and makes it more patient oriented, become more energy independent, and get our fiscal health in order.  I just can't believe this is a "good government".  What does a bad one do?  There are so many back door deals for companies on both sides of the isle.  It can't do anything well.  Every project is over budget and not done in time.

Although I agree with most of what needs to be fixed with America, I think it needs to start with educating Americans to what the main issues are in political issues, economy, and environment.  The percentage of Americans who actually understand the issues we face is small.  That is the main thing I find obnoxious in America, education.  We need teachers willing to do anything to teach people that don't want to be taught, to make them understand the issues that we all face, not just Americans.

As this is in "Golf Talk" let's keep it only slightly political, please.

We have the Grill Room for political conversations.

Thank you.

    • Day 2 (4 Apr 25) - played in the weekly men’s group shootout.  Decent day off the tee and most longer approaches.  Wedges from 70-80 out were off, but green side work was good. Overall a fun day with the crew.
    • $50??? You're not serious, I'm sure. The only thing a $50 driver will be good for is to whip your horse  as you're rounding the far turn heading into the home stretch. Seriously, go to a big box store. They all have used clubs up the wazoo and you should be able to find clubs at a reasonable price. Also, talk to the guys there. You'll be able to tell just by conversing with them which ones are interested in helping you and will provide good advise. Those companies are usually pretty good about weeding out the bad apples who are only interested in making a quick sale. The commission the big box stores pay is so miniscucle anyway that sales guys are usually brand agnostic.
    • Day 13: 4/4/25 Stack Full Speed Spectrum training session.
    • Day 186 - 2025-04-04 Worked before lessons this morning. Not a long time as the first lesson arrived pretty early.
    • Strata are decent clubs for newbies, usually furnished in a complete boxed set, with putter and bag. They're an excellent way to get going in the game and to see if you want to stick with it. If you don't, you're not out too much money but if you want to progress, you should get fit and buy better clubs with newer technology that will help you out. Most places I know of (ie: Golf Galaxy / PGA Store) charge you for the fitting which is then credited back to you when you buy the clubs, so it's essentially free. (I know GG does that...not sure about PGA.) Once you have clubs that fit you rather than you having to maybe contort yourself to fit the clubs (depending on your height/arm length/swing characteristics) you can progress and get better. Ultimately though, as the saying goes, "It's not the arrow, it's the Indian."
