I had to slow my swing down to stop pain from returning.  I quit playing for 8 months to recover from constant pain. Now to the question...I average around 90- 92 per 18 holes when I don't fall apart and fatigue out. Just having fun with friends. A foot wedge now and then. I have been looking at Adams v3 with hybrids to make the shot easier, but concerned about the lost in distance with the hybrids.  Do I keep my focus on a game improvement club or just go for super game improvement? ( Graphite should help some.) I have a 75 mph swing and read that is regular shaft.  My 6 iron is now my 150 yard club instead of my 7 iron. I now have to and play smart and straight instead of trying to keep up with the long hitters that I never really could not do anyway. Concerned with the second shots needing a longer iron which is harder to control. Then I come up short with a slower swing or missing the green in the rough because of the fatigue.  Will hybrids make that much difference over regular cb irons? I would like to hope that focusing on my swing will help me hit the sweet spot more and help my distance some.  I just want the most support in irons that I can get. Any suggestions on irons / hybrids  would be greatly appreciated.  I have x-12s regular steel shaft at the present.

Thanks!

Swing speed and how much of a "game improvement" set you might need have no correlation.

Hybrids should in theory give you some extra length and graphite shafts as well will increase swing speed a bit as well.

You may also take a swing with a senior flex shaft just to see how it feels. If you can keep the ball strait a senior flex could add some distance.

If you tenative about hybrids go get a single cheapo hybrid from a few years back and stick it your bag and see if you find it useful at all.

In general a Hybrid is going to have a much higher ball flight caryy a bit longer and roll a bit less. They are also in general a slightly longer shaft and so will nex you around a 10-15 yard boost. I love my hybrids some people hate them, you'll never know until you try.

Nickent hybrids were extremely well regarded when they were new and can now be had for under 50 bucks if you shop around, might be a good starting point.

I suffered from severe tendonitis for 2 years and was at the point where I was going to have to quit playing.  Everytime I took a divot, it felt like razorblades slicing up my elbow joint.  I had 5 cortozone shots and physical therapy and nothing worked.  I was literally at the end of my rope when a friend suggested acupunture.  Being desperate I began treatments and 6 sessions later my elbow felt pretty good.  I am now a believer.  It had similar success with some shoulder pain. Three years later I haven't had a bit of pain.  Time to time it gets tight and I have to stretch it out.   I am back lifting weights and my swing speed is back up to 109.
