How to check club lie at home...

I just stumbled across this kit you can buy.  Looks like it would be fairly simple to replicate at home.  Put some masking tape on the club face and paint a line on a ball.  Maybe not giving you exact measurements, but at least giving you an idea if you are too flat or upright.  Anyone know of other ways to do this?

Unless you can set the ball with the line PERFECTLY straight up and down, it can still give a "not perfect" reading.  1° can make a difference.  I'm not sure there isn't anything better than the combo of an impact label (or masking tape) along with hitting a ball (not just swinging) off a lie board with electrical tape on the sole.

I think its easier to replicate the standard impact tape/lie board at home.
