i see a lot of the Amateur players wearing hats with logos. Are they being paid to wear the logo?

Point being they buy (or are given) golf hats, just like you do. Should they go out of their way to try to find blank hats? Why? What about their clothes? The clubs they have? Their bags? Shoes? Gloves?

The reason golf companies have logos, and some firms pay marketing fees is because it is a cheap marketing advertising tool. They love it when top amateurs they don't have to pay wear their stuff. Certainly when companies give equipment to college programs it is not completely altruistic, they hope that players become confident with and loyal to their equipment, and if they advance to the next level they have an edge in signing that player to their roster.
