Well i've had my driver and 3 wood for a good 3 months now, and the miura irons, and wedges for a month. I think i finally came to the conclusion that though they are incredibly good looking clubs from my perspective, they are worth the money in my opinion. When  hit the tournament blades, They felt like how every review on them said. Butter soft with great trajectory. (I also tried the nakashima irons but didn't like the looks as much) I really enjoyed the fitting process, trying numerous shafts a bunch of different heads. It took about 3 hours. Paid 2000 bucks on the iron wedge set, 750 for the driver, and 350 for the 3 wood. Some say it's a waste of money, but To be honest the amount of golf I play, everything is all about performance Because I wont get a new set for a good 3 years. No other driver could match the numbers of the nakashima woods. I gained about 10+ yards and they look is just really nice pear shape that purist like me really love. As for the wedges. They are like the irons. Really nice shape and I prefer the 'c' grind on it. Feels like super soft vokeys, with more shortgame control. Please comment below i'm curious on what you guys think of my notion. :)

Way to go... I'm of the same thought -- buy what you want, but only buy it once every 3-4 years -- except for driver of course. Driver - once every 2-3 years. High lofted wedges - when worn. Putter, when properly fitted, doesn't need a change. When you buy another, it's just for something fun.

Personally, if you buy more often, I think the game is a disease disguised as a hobby. I should know, been there, done that.

I dropped some coin on Henry-Griffitts custom clubs.  More then a big name set but less then what you spent.  My thoughts for you are that it is great that they work for you.  There is nothing better then having confidence over the ball.

I am happy for you (and me) that we have financial freedom.  My experience has been that most folks don't and they will not get why you would spend more then they want to.

God bless financial freedom.  Enjoy the sticks!

My first thought is post a WITB with pics or it never happened.

The Tournament Blades are fantastic irons. I had a set myself and really enjoyed them. I'm curious though, did you hit the 1957's? If so, what did you think of them? Why the TB's instead of the 1957's?

Well because, they feel similar but the tbs have a much bigger sweetspot. The baby blades are the tb's but 15% smaller. As you know the tbs are already really bladey as is.

    • We had a member of our senior club who developed a mental block on pulling the trigger. I played with him to see what the membership was talking about. I timed him a few times when he would get over the ball. 45 seconds. He knew he had a mental block and would chide himself, “Just hit it!” Once on the green he was okay and chipping was a bit better. It was painful to watch him struggle. Our “bandaid” was to put him in the last tournament  tee time with two understanding players. We should have suggested to him to take a break from our tournaments. I agree with the idea that when a player realizes they have a problem, the answer is to go fix it and not return until they are able to play at an acceptable pace.
