It's hard to bet against Tiger, especially when he's one shot off the pace with 18 holes to go. And it's Sunday at Augusta. And he's going for a third straight major. Potentially hold all four, again, and then not go for a 5th for his child.

On that note, Tiger can usually pull out a win on the last two holes, especially if his playing partner is the main person against whom he is competing at that point. He'll know going into 17 what he needs on the last two holes to win. Yet, on Thursday and today, he shot bogey-bogey on those holes. He's yet to get better than par on 18, although he did birdie 17 yesterday. Should be fun.

This will be a tough call, with the weather being predicted like todays maybe a little more wind and still cold. Could be a round for a sleeper to slip in with a win. Maybe Rose he seems pretty steady with his game.

It'll be real interesting to see if a guy like Luke Donald and/or Mickelson try to make a run at the green jacket. They are like 4 or 5 shots off the lead right now, so they still have a chance. They'd have to show like a 68 or something tomorrow though to win.

with about 45 minutes before the leaders go off, it is sure to be another interesting day at augusta. yesterday, when tiger finished, it looked like he would be playing about 4 groups in front of the leaders. by the time clark and wetterich signed their cards, he had made it into the final group. yesterday was all about surviving the conditions without throwing too much away. today might be about the same conditions. i look to the guys who survived yesterday,(appleby, woods, rose, johnson, taylor, singh, mickelson and a few others) to stay near the top this afternoon. as for who is going to be donning the green jacket in about 5 and half hours...that's why i'll be watching.

    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
