wow, seeing as im new to the game, i havent experienced wind like i did this morning

today i was so lost with my club selection, hitting into the wind always short, with wind behind me off the tee was pretty simple, on approch shots wow, i was about 130yards out so i thought an easy PW would get me to where i needed....wrong just kept going resting about 30yds past the green!!!

managed an ok round 101, but boy i had to really work today judging the wind!

met office has the wind at 27mph, with gusts of 37mph!

Playing in the wind is something that takes practice to build confidence in club selection.  Every times is different as well, which is a bigger challenge.  The only good thing the wind is, you always get those holes where it helps and you get to smash drives lol.

I seen ball striking demonstrations in very high wind. The pro hit straight shot after straight shot. Advised one more club, an inch choke up, smooth swing (when it's breezy swing easy). His point was that spin is the enemy in high wind. A slightly easier swing takes backspin off the ball. A solid swing takes sidespin off the ball. Even downwind, spin can do goofy things like knock a ball out of the sky when you'd think it would carry it long.

Swing easy and make great contact. Easy to say. Hard for me to do.
