Well I am new to these forums and I am needing advise.  My golf clubs got stolen from my house so I am now needing some new ones.  I have narrowed my choices to either the G20's or the new r11's.  I know way different clubs.  I have only hit the r11's in a simulator and they felt very good and I have never been a TM fan.  I have not hit the G20's but have hit the g15's at my club.  I am not wild about the size of the irons but I was hitting the 7 iron really frickin good.  They also had the burner 2.0 6 iron that I tried out and I liked it as well but I was hitting the ping 7 iron almost as far as the TM 6 iron.  I am going to the golf shop tonight to hit the r11's and g20's in the simulator but my brain is starting to get numb now.  Anybody tried these out?

well, after hitting both clubs in the simulator last night I have decided to go with the R11's.  Had to get them custom ordered so I can't wait.

Sorry about the old set being stolen.

I think you made a good choice going for TaylorMade, as they seem to be doing good business for the R-11 series, judging from white drivers and fairway woods that kept popping up at my home course in the last few weeks.  Haven't had a chance to hit one, though, I wouldn't go with the R-11 because of its color.

Hope you have fun with the new set and good luck.

Good marketing, IMO, and I fell into it as well.  There are other clubs that hit better than the R11 driver and fairway woods that also cost a lot less.

The R11 irons do look nice, haven't hit them yet but I can understand the initial appeal.  Great looking clubs, just hope their performance is at least equal to their looks.

Always changing:

Driver: Cobra S2/Nike VR Pro 10.5º

Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour 4-9i

Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º & 21º

Wood: TaylorMade R11 3w

Putter: Odyssey White Hot

Wedges: Titleist Vokeys - 48º, 54º, 62º

First round: February 2011

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
