There is typically a half inch difference in each iron. So the 4i should be a full inch longer than the 6i.

I thought the CB2 stock shaft was a KBS Tour 90, not KBS Tour.  The REG KBS Tour 90 would be less stiff than the PX 5.5.  The Tour 90 shaft is also very light.  That may be the difference in feel.

Went online to the two shaft sites. Here are the specs:

Proj X 5.5

Flighted

Flex R R+
Weight (grams) 110 120
Frequency 5.1 5.5
Flight Low-Mid Flighted

KBS is about 9% lighter, and - as frequencies match up - not as stiff. That means you would likely get more clubhead speed from the KBS shafts. Do you have launch monitor data from the KBS tests?

The Proj X, being flighted, would give a little loft boost to the longer irons, but keep the shorter irons from ballooning too much.

If you really liked the KBS, maybe you should trade out and get irons with KBS, even if you lose some money. Even with softstep, the PXs will be heavier.

weight the cost from what you are going to lose on a trade vs the cost to either reshaft or soft step them once or twice. I know a lot of people that play the px's now that didn't really like them when they first got them. when I got my ap2's I hit the px and the kbs and the kbs. the px a little longer an a little tighter I just didn't like the way the felt. it's all personal, it's your call. the px is a good shaft as is the kbs. I personally like the kbs this is my second set with them. I didn't notice if you had gone back to hit them side by side again, if so how did that go?

I have the CB2 irons with the KBS Tour 90 stiff shafts. At the beginning of the season I played a set of irons with the Project X 5.5 and found them to be very close in stiffness. I hated the feel of the Project X shafts...love the KBS. Good luck.
