Just wonder any low handicapper out there using Ping G15? I would like to hear your view why you are using it. If you have used it before but have swapped it out of your bag, i would like to hear your view and the reason why you switch too. Thank.

Bubba Watson was using it until he switched to the G20.  I guess that means it's the most incredible driver on the market, because he's the most incredible driver of the ball on tour.

Not sure how you define a "low handicapper" but I am a seven...my story goes as follows:

I am 52 years old and did not really start playing golf of any type until in my 40's and about 5 years ago decided to see how good I could get...well I had a few bumps along the way like I had massive shoulder surgery in January 2010 (not from golf) and that set me back quite a bit...anyway as my handciap went lower I started to think that I am a better player and I should play better "player" irons...so needless to say over the last two years I have been a club HO and have played basically everything in the golf store...however, it seemed like every time I grabbed a G15 iron and hit it in the hitting bay I was longer and more accurate than anything I had ever hit...then I went on vacation ealry this year and the rental clubs were Diablo Edge and I just stripped every shot I hit and thought hard about buying those...but NO I kept going to the golf store and seeing the next "players" iron that came out and putting those in the bag instead...now not that I could not hit them but I had to work hard and when playing a round had to be on my game for my ball stiking to really play into shooting a good score (have a solid short game that keeps my handicap in tact) but the fact is I always remembered the way I hit the G15 irons in the store...then I started reading on various golf forums how lower handicappers were starting to play G15 irons and how there were eight Pro's on the PGA Tour last year gaming G15 irons...so then the G 20 irons came out...it took me until December but I decided to really give them a fair chance...so I got a demo (pretty much to my specs) and hit it for two solid weeks...I could not believe how easy it was to hit the ball where I wanted to...long and high...so needless to say the day before Xmas eve my G 20 irons arrived (White dot, +1/2, KBS Tour, stiff) and I have only been able to get out twice and hit them but I cannot wait for 2012 to start as I think this is going to be my best ball striking year yet and I forsee my handciap going below five...

I I was down to a 2 this past summer. Switched from Eye2 irons that I played since 1986 to G15 irons. The G15 irons are about a club longer, but have stronger lofts. I also went from Black dot to red dot ,and as a result, hit the ball much straighter. There is a bit less feel in the G15's, but overall, the results have been an improvement vs. my older pings.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
