Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Allenby loves the opportunity to dig holes for himself and make himself look worse than he did before. If indeed it's possible. And it was.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I have vague recollections of Allenby having a really good season in Europe (early/mid 90s), having a car accident and breaking his sternum. I think he had to turn up and hit off the first tee to collect a bonus at the year end championship and that there was a lot of fuss about it being terribly unfair.

Do you think it was just the officials taking the p!ss because they all hated him?

This gives you a little insight.

I think it was one of those theings where most guys just say  -"Oh well, those are the rules".

Allenby's problems is that he claims to just tell the truth and doesn't mind being opinionated.

That's all well and good, but it comes across as whingeing.

Now....if you've seen te Youtube clip of Daly in Sydney and the people laughing at him, that might give you a sense of how Australian crowds respond to millionaire golfers beihaving like brats and putting on airs and graces. Not to mention sacking caddies every half hour and blaming everyone but himself.  He probably gets treated a little roughly and has a persecution complex, but that's life if you are in th public eye.

But...the guy whose camera was smashed by Daly deserved it.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.
