Group,

I lose distance when hitting from medium to high rough - I know this is obvious, but two questions:

* For club selection, on the average, how much distance does one lose when hitting from the rough versus fairway or light rough?

* Would it help distance wise putting the ball say further back in my stance?

Thanks for all help - any other tips would be appreciaed.

The way I deal with "shot-affecting-rough" is to try to come down steeper, really hitting "down" on the ball, trying to minimize the amount of grass I have to hit through... Same swing (basically) perhaps a little bit narrower and higher, but everything else stays pretty much the same.

Choke up, ball back a little in stance and get steep on it

Either you'll hit the target, lose distance or fly the target....but you shouldn't chunk it or whiff it - that's the beauty of golf
