Hey all:

I would assume a little introduction is in order....I am from South Louisiana and grew up in the small town of St. Martinville. I really got the golf itch in college, but sort of lost touch with the sport when I started working, got married, had child, etc.

Finally getting settled in a bit in my career and family life at the ripe old age of 36, and the golf bug has struck again!!!! I've managed to work my cap back down to 11 (still a duffer!!!!), but am hitting the ball better than ever. Unfortunately, my chipping and putting pretty much sucks, so I always leave a lot of shots out there on the course.

I'm also from the Bayou state. I live in Baton Rouge. I just started playing golf about 4 months ago. I actually played my first 18 on Tuesday and my second today.

I actually hit my first birdie today. It felt great. Too bad I atleast double bogied everything else. Oh well, there's always improving to do.

Its almost in prairieville off of old jefferson, kinda close to tiger bend. Where are you?

      Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.

      Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done!       Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
