Wondering what is the correct way the right foot should point?  Should it be open or square with the target line?  When I open my foot I feel my hips over rotate and I dont feel the tightness of the big muscles making a solid coil.  Any help on this would be great. Thanks!

I feel exactly the same as you.  I'm very flexible for a guy my size and if I play with my back foot more than just a tiny bit open, I feel like I'm almost spinning out of my hips on the back swing and don't feel the coil in my core which makes having any power while staying smooth and in tempo very hard.

For me it entirely depends on how much upper body rotation I get. I started out with around 30 degrees flared which gave me good balance but not as much coil as I'd like. Then I tried perpendicular to the target and got much more coil but as my hips rotated the rear hip would lift upward more than I wanted. I now have a small flare of 10 degrees or so and it feels perfect for me.

I don't think there's any right or wrong answer, it entirely depends on what the effect of flaring or not flaring does to the rest of the swing.

For me, having the rear foot square to the target works best.  I like to feel the tension in my right leg muscle as I rotate back. It also tends to keep me from moving my head back, one of my major swing flaws.

I like my right foot square because i am pretty flexible in golf rotation department. Though i do kick my knee in on chip shots to make sure i am on my left side. Other than that, i like it square. I keep my left foot square to, except when i want to add a bit of distance, than i will flare the left foot out a bit.

It depends upon your flexibility.  If you are less flexible, having the right foot a bit open can help you to get more turn in your swing.

Personally, I prefer to have my foot square because it keeps me from overrotating my hips.

my back foot is usually square on irons and a smidge (say, 12:30/1:00) open when hitting driver. on irons i feel like it keeps me squared up more and on the driver i get the feeling of a better turn...
