So I am trying to Moi Match my clubs using a swing weight scale and a gram scale per Teutelman. However. I was wondering about if the formula for static MO1 could be used for a golf clubs since it does not have the mass evenly distributated through the assembly.  So does I=1/3mL^2 work for golf clubs? is there another way I can mathematically verify MOI?

Thanks

Carl

MOI = Lc 2 *(H + S/3) + 10*G
MOI = The moment of inertia of the club
Lc = nominal club Length (inches)
H = Head weight (grams)
S = trimmed Shaft weight (grams)
G = Grip weight (grams)
Never mind I found it on a part of his site I missed. In any case I thought I would post this because it might be helpful.

Yeah, your second post makes a lot more sense, that first equation is just for a thin rod.

If you PM me your email address, I have a couple different MOI Excel spreadsheets I will send you, one of which is directly from Dave Teutelman.

Bugger calculating the MOI of the club by hand, would take ages as the club head isn't a perfect shape(s). You can calculate the MOI in Autocad, which I'm assuming is how club manufacturers calculate it.
