Every week, golf announcers are prone to share information that is not always beneficial to the golfers that are watching.  Johnny Miller, Brandel Chamblee, Peter Kostis, Nick Faldo are all guilty of this.  All great players, some hall of fame members but seem to equate what they "feel" as to what is actually happening.

My biggest pet peeve is when a player hits it left and the explanation is always, he "came over the top."  Why is this bad info? Because swing path is not the primary reason for where the ball starts.  And unless the face and path match up, the ball will curve away from the path.

I just saw this video from instructor Wayne Defrancesco and thought it would useful to share.  Also featured is a comment by Gary Koch that Aaron Baddeley swung "too fast" at impact.  I have tremendous respect for Miller's playing record and his positive influence on the game.  But I think it's important, as this Thread does, of informing the golfing public on how to identify good and bad information.

This reminds me of the "Cialis Pro" Brian Mogg who during yesterday's Bay Hill coverage told us that in order to hit a low hook around a tree, you aim the face of the club where you want the ball to finish (the flag) and aim your body to the right and then swing along your body line.....I guess he hasn't researched the ball flight laws

Am I missing something, I have been doing this for years. What's wrong with this advice?
