I just don't get it. Last week my HC was 20.3. Since then I've played 5 rounds with scores of 93, 94, 95, 98 & 96 but my HC has jumped to 21.2. It seems like it shoul've stayed about the same or even dropped a bit. Any ideas on why it would go up? Just curious,

It's just some very basic math.

What's the course rating and slope? If you have 20 scores or more in your handicap calculations, what were the differentials of the scores that were bumped out of the last 20?

You may have kicked a low score out of your last 20 with one of your new scores.  While your average for the last 20 may have decreased with these new scores, if you replaced an 87 with a 92 your handicap will go up.

Like Erik says, it depends on what scores were dropped off the bottom to update the last 20.  It's strictly a math issue.

That stinks! I was really hoping that a string of solid scores (For me), would knock it below 20.

Keep playing good golf and it will go down.  If there is a high 90's score in your last 20 you'll see a drop as soon as you can drop that out.

What's the course rating? The slope? If it's not at least about 72 it's going to be tough for even 94s and 95s to get you below a 20.
