Last Friday I went to my local golf shop (Edwin's Golf) and I ended up getting new clubs. I've always had a slight slice, and sometimes it didn't effect play. While I was getting fitted for my new clubs the older gentleman (who was a 7 year tour player) told me right away I was slicing the ball…my grip. He went over the proper way hold my club, fixed my stance a little and now hit the ball farther and straighter then I have EVER. I'm not saying this is the answer, but it sure fixed mine. If you have an Edwin's Golf near you maybe try going in and try hitting a few balls. They may end up giving you some great advice.

If your shot starts straight like you mentioned previously and then curves, your club face is aimed at the target, but the path is out to in. If it starts right and curves, then the face is open.

Want to share the new grip/stance fixes he gave you?

Maybe it can help me out as well.

Try a stronger grip, this may help.

An instructor told me that I was slicing because I was gripping too hard with my right hand.  Sure enough, if I loosen my grip with my right hand (and if I do everything else I'm supposed to) no slice!
