I usually have 30-32 putts. If I'm under 30 it usually means I scored pretty well. Also my course has VERY small greens....not a lot of 3 putts

Less 3 putts, but harder to hit the green

average is 28. I don't putt that well, i just play on a course with relatively small greens.

35-45. I have decent iron play that gives me plenty of greens in regulation, but a lot of monster putts.

Well chipping is probally the best part of my game.... chipping and pitching... if i'm 25m out with my lop wedge 9/10 times i will put it within 4m making it a pretty easy putt. I'm only 14 and i hit my driver about 220m on a good strike so on a 400m par 4 if i put my tee shot 200-220m out from the green ive got a 5-wood and a bit to go... so if i place it 15m out pitch on 1 putt thats par. Spin really helps me pitch close. I'd think i'd have 30 putts around and i usually shoot 80-88 so 30 of thats putts thats bad, cuzz if i have those close chips and 1 putt i just lose it if i hit the green in 2 and have a 12m putt i'll three putt that if i dont put it close on my first one.
But my putting has improved dramitically over the last month or so.

31.3 -- down from 31.9 last year. There's an old golf digest article that has stats for different handicap levels and 9-cappers averaged 32 a round, so that's the number I've been using as a target. Maybe it's time to switch my goal to 30 (GD handicap 4.5 level) or maybe it's time to start hitting more greens (I average a pretty sad 4 per round this year) and try to keep the same number of putts.

FWIW, I'm fairly consistent in the 30-34 range, but had a personal best 25 last weekend with only 11 putts on the front. Of course, I only hit 2 greens in in regulation that nine...
