hey guys. im wondering what your input is on the callaway razr hawk driver. i tried this driver, the callaway razr x black and my current driver (ft-5). i hit the razr hawk best and i really like the feel at impact. also, im thinking of ordering through callaway preowned instead of through dicks or ebay since the msrp is 400 (dicks has it for 300) and ebay u dont know if it is real. the good quality stiff 10.5 degree is 195 but 175 with the 15 percent discount they have. what is good quality compared to average quality from experience? thanks

Average has idiot marks on the the top of it.  Good USUALLY doesn't just sole and face wear.

As someone who has purchased from callaway preowned several times, all drivers, and most of them having "average" condition classification, not one had any skymarks or chips in the paint.  If they were rated on a scale from 1 to 10, they all would have been 8.5.  Maybe I have been lucky so far, but the worst one only had a couple of scratches on the sole, which was the tour burner tp.  If it didn't have a black sole, they wouldn't have been really noticeable at all.  Drivers tend to be in better than average condition as they are used less than other clubs.  I would expect a set of irons that have been marked as average to have a bit more wear though.  The one that had a "good" rating would easily be a 9 out of 10.  Like I said in an other post, callaway preowned is the only place I will buy a club without actually seeing it first, they have my utmost confidence.

My supertri and my 3 wood are only 2 hours away (nearest UPS depot, yuck!), so I am expecting delivery today (I hope!), or tomorrow at the latest.  The driver was listed as average condition, and the 3 wood as good, so I can post a pic for you when they come in, to give you an idea of what to expect.

I've only purchased one club off that site that was categorized as GOOD condition.  The shaft was perfect and it had a new grip.  No serious issues with the head, but there were some sky marks on it.  I felt good about it considering the price.  Now i mainly shoot for the clubs in "LIKE NEW" condition, as they have all been in the same condition you'd get them in from the store.

Clubs arrived Wednesday afternoon.  Looks like I forgot to d/l the r9 crown pic, but it is in mint condition, with barely a mark on the face.  I had the conditions backwards as well.  The r9 was listed as "good", and the r11 was "average".

r9 sole:

r11 crown, excellent condition for average.

r11.jpg

r11  ASP shows some paint wear, also on the face and leading edge, but isn't noticeable from address.  This is actually the most wear I have ever seen on an "average" item, but I am still pleased with it, none the less.

If they aren't too deep, a good quality (Mother's) cleaner wax can remove them, most of the time.  Be sure not to get any on the club face though.  The stuff is normally used to remove oxidization from dull vehicle paint.

ok. do you think they mighthave accidently sent a wrong club from a different catagory?

Actually, after seeing your pics, it doesn't look that bad at all.  I was almost expecting to see gouges in the paint.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
