I can hit it relatively straight with my irons but when it comes to my woods and driver I still fight a major slice or pull slice. I try to set up to hit a draw but it doesn't seem to work for me. Any tips for getting the longer clubs in the slot to get on the correct swing path? Thanks in advance for any help.

You might just be coming in too steep.  Try getting flatter on the backswing.  You may find that it just one little things that is causing you the slice.

May I ask how bad of a slice is it. 10,20, or 30 yards

I'm pretty sure you are right. I come in pretty steep with an over the top swing with my driver. It could be as much as 20-30 yards. I can get my shorter clubs to come in on the correct path (from the inside), but I can't seem to do it with my longer clubs. I just don't know how to get myself to start y driver swing properly

Slow your swing down, feel like your just tapping it down the fairway,... I played saturday and pured all my irons, but lost everything off the tee right,...finally having enough i decided to juat get it in play and just "tap it down the fairway" and hit my straightest longest drive of the day,....

You can move the ball back in your stance. At impact your path will be less out to in then a regular ball position. It's a bandaid but it will work until you can grove a full swing with your driver.

First,

Check your alignment, and check if the ball is starting left or right of the target line. If its left, then your probably pull slicing, if its right, then your push slicing, there different fixes.

It's definitely not a push slice. It is either a pull slice or it starts straight and then slices. I can't figure out the correct way to swing from the inside. I am almost always starting by coming over the top with ny driver and 3 wood.

Im struggling with the same things,...ive gone from a block/push slice to mostly a straight slice/pull slice Things helping me are moving the ball bak in stance an inch, slowing my swing and kerping my head down until the club is almost parallel through impact Ive lost a lot of distance doin this, but hey, a 210 yard second shot from the fairway is easier than a 180 yard shot from the rough or trees!

I have been trying to learn to golf for the last nine months.  Two months ago if I would hit a driver, the ball would go about a hundred yards straight, and a hundred yards to the right.  I am not exaggerating.  It really was that bad.

I am just now starting to get this under control.  The key for me was club head path.  Mine was outside to in, and this was amplified with longer clubs, and whenever I moved the ball forward.  Put a driver in my hand, and move the ball all the way forward, and I could literally never hit a playable shot, no matter how softly I swung the club.

In retrospect, I wish an instructor would have just set something (like a golf ball bucket) about a foot behind the ball many months ago.  If that had happened, I would have understood the desired diagonal clubhead path much sooner, and could have been much farther along in the development of my game.

The bolded part of your quote sounds just like what I have gone through.  Nothing I did seemed to work..until I picked a swing spot 3-4 inches in front of the ball and about 1 inch to the right of the ball. By swinging over that spot, I am forced to swing from the inside out and not outside in. It was really hard to force myself to swing that path, but the rewards have been a great confidence builder. Last round I played, only hit one tee shot ob right..(I didn't think what I was doing, and swung out to in). Instead of hitting my usual one fairway in a round, I found it eight times!! So stoked..Hopefully my days of slicing are over with and I can move on to the 100 yard part of the game.

Give it a try and see if it helps correct your slice..it sure has helped mine :)
