Long story but I went to my store and found a 910 d2 for only 99 bucks. My swing speed is average 105 but can try and get on it at 110 or so. Things were going so fast and I just saw stiff and had to buy it. (910 d2 from a very reputable store for 100 bucks.) I didnt even really test swing it. I was about to drop 90 on a 909 anyways and its the first club that I go swing for fun when I get to roger dunn. Anyways...I took it out on a course later that day that was pretty tough and I had never played before. I didnt keep exact fairway stats and what not but I didn't lose a single ball and I remember one hole specifically being about 30 yards past all my buddies. I am going today to put it on the monitor and all that mostly to play with the adjustments but Im perfect for a stiff shaft and this x stiff seems to be working much better than my stiff shaft before. Much more accurate

I don't know if the Project X shafts are considered x-stiff but yours is 76g which if you have a quick return swing, it will help with accuracy. I like the shaft and was fitted for the 7C3 version.

I ran across a thread a week or two ago on project x shafts coding but cant seem to find it again. What do all the codes mean?

Here is the webpage: http://www.truetemper.com/pxshaft/projectx_graphite_ti.asp

I think the letter might dictate tip stiffness.

Well thank you but Im not sure I totally get it still. The only differences I see are 3 grams of weight and 1.0 Frequency which this is the first time ive heard of this measurement. But I guess my clubs not an extra stiff so I guess im no longer relative to this thread :(

Sorry to burst your bubble. Here is some more info.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/490690-what-do-the-numbers-mean-on-project-x-shafts/

First number is the weight (7=70's grams), letter is flex (A=7.0, B-6.5, C=6.0), last number is just an internal protoype model. My understanding is that most of the retail versions are simply one of the tour versions with different labeling. They took one model out of each flex.

Well I made my choice and ordered my club. My first new driver ordered to my specs. I got a 910F3, 7.5 loft with the Project X 7C3 with 2 degree flat bend. Got a helluva good deal on it!

I hope you really do have a 120 MPH swing, cause you're gonna need it to get that club to launch more than 3 feet above the ground.

I ended up with a 8.5 lofted club which was what I tested out on. It was still on the border of a too high launch but I can lower the loft if needed. I will be happy with it I am sure

You mean 910D3? I have never heard of a fairway wood with a 7.5 loft. Good luck man I hope it works out for you. You must crush that ball.

Doh, I do that all the time. Yes the D3 not F3. I went with the 8.5, the 7.5 would be on back order indefinitely plus I did not get to hit the 7.5. At both fittings they said they wished they had a 7.5 loft for me to try.

you can always bring down the loft .75 Or did you already try that. I love this 910D2 I just got. I hope you enjoy your D3

I knew about that. I was going to get the 7.5 because I could take it up to 9 degrees. That is about the highest I would want to go. The 8.5 can get to 10 degrees and I don't see myself ever using that loft.

I will probably start with the settings I had at the fitting and see how it goes.

Sooo I finished my round and decided to play a few quick holes with my new driver. So I hit off the white tees on the first hole and drive the ball pin high to the right rough about 10-15 yds away from the pin. I can not imagine the yardage is correct here but it was a helluva drive.

The tees had to have been up but I didn't check before I left the box.

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
