RBZ for beginners?

Im a very new golfing, but I have caught the golf bug, I find myself constantly thinking about going out and having some fun at the driving range or on the course! I am about to take lessons, not 100% sure where yet, but I was wondering, how big of a deal is it to you guys that you really like the look of the club you are thinking about purchasing? I've looked at quite a few irons and I really like the look/feel of the rbz irons, gives me almost a confident feeling at address. I know they are not SGI irons but they are GI irons, do you think it would be a bad choice for me to upgrade to these from my current clubs? I am looking for something I will able to enjoy playing with, but not something I will grow out of quickly, but rather, grow into them. Thanks!

They aren't bad clubs. I tried those and the burner 2.0 and can't tell the difference. The only thing that taylormade did with the rbz was jack up the lofts so that it appears that you hit them further. If you like those then get them. I would stick with a GI iron just because you can "grow" into them from your current golf game. You might want to try some other brands while your at it. Mizuno, Ping, and Callaway also have really nice irons that are in the same category as the rbz but you might like them better. Also go to golfdigest.com and look at the hot list clubs for this year to give yourself an idea of some clubs to look at.

Don't worry about the classification of the clubs or what category of clubs you should get. If you like the look at address more get them. They will inspire that much more confidence in you.

Ive been playing 8 mos...and just in the last two weeks got fitted and updated my entire bag to give me something better to work with than my beginner set that I had.

I tried about 10 different sets of irons....and personally the RBZ did feel good to me (Even though i kinda had my mind set on them prior...great marketing! LOL).......I ended up getting the Burner Plus Irons....and first day on the course, with no range time at all added around 10-15 yds per club...i was blown away at the difference in having good equipment.

Furthermore....I DID end up getting a RBZ Driver and 5 wood...and to my completely astonishment....... I went from hitting my old driver about 150-160 yds and way right........(could hit farther with my 5 & 6 irons! LOL)  to today where I hit 20 in a row 240-250 DEAD on down the middle!!!  of course there was a good 20 balls prior that were all over the place......but the point being...i cant honestly say that the RBZ driver has helped me IMMENSELY!!

Disclaimer: when i was being fitted, the Pro at Dicks did change/help me with a few things with my driver swing.....so im postiive that was a significant part of the improvement, but no denying if nothing else the RBZ makes me feel more confident and its paying off!

i agree with this. However, i just went through the same thing you're going through now. I was looking at new sets as well, but were manufactured years ago. The Wilson Staff Ci6 and Cobra S2 iron lines.

I loved the look of the S2's and sorta liked the Ci6's. However, i hit the 2 at the PGA Superstore and i hit the Ci6's much better. I squared the ball better and hit it more in the hot spot then the S2's. In addition, the Ci6's were $200 cheaper.

Keep that in mind. Although it looked great, that doesnt mean its best for you. However, i wouldnt sell yourself short on something you will need to upgrade again in 6 months to a year.
