I played one of these yesterday and was really impressed.  While it flew nicely with the woods and irons, it really stood out around the green.  I don't favor balls with a lot of short-game "spring" because I think they are harder to control and this one fit the bill nicely.  It even had a really nice muted sound coming off the putter.  I've been playing a Taylormade Ghost, which I've always thought had an undesirable metallic tink sound to it.  The Z Star really balanced that out well.  All around, it felt like a ball you could get a little aggressive with around the greens and it would still behave nicely.  The yellow color seemed a little gimmicky at first, but it does look nice flying in the air.  Most days in central Texas, it's fairly hazy, and the horizon turns golf-ball white.  I lose so many balls visually that I have to rely a lot on feel to know whether I hit the fairway or not.  Yesterday wasn't the best test, since it was fairly clear, but I could tell this would be a much easier ball to track in flight.  Any thoughts?

Agreed with pretty much everything. I usually play the Z-Star XV in Tour Yellow and I'm a big fan of it. Easy to track in the air and spot on the ground. The ball performs great for me...low spin off the driver for straighter shots and good distance, yet still plenty soft for the green. A big plus, the tour yellow seems to be MUCH more durable than other white golf balls.
