As the title suggests, which flight bag would you recommend? I'll probably use it once a year and it needs to be big enough for my carry bag. There's not many reviews on the net so I thought what better place to post than on here. Thanks

IMO Club Glove is by far the best travel bag on the market.  You can get the Burst Proof model for a little over $200.  I bought one 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

I'm also a Club Glove fan after getting one last year.   It is really well built, has straps and handles in just the right places, and has survived several trips without showing the slightest wear or damage - it really seems bullet proof.      I also like that they're built in the US here in Southern California.

I've had a hard case in the past, and although it protected the clubs well it was a pain in the butt to use and didn't fit into rental cars very well.    I like how the Club Glove also packs well and folds up when not used.

I've never even heard of club glove before so thanks for that. However it's a tad too expensive for me at the min. Are there no cheaper alternatives?

I use the OGIO Monster.  Found it on ebay for around $100

Ogio Straight Jacket has been good for me. Not so heavy as to add that little extra weight that kicks you into extra charges on some carriers. But beefy enough to protect your stuff.  Not the monster that their Monster Bag is -- and Golf Glove bags are. I also like the different color options that make your bag unique enough that accidentally taking your bag is unlikely (too many all black bags in luggage claim. My black and red Ogio stands out). I put a 4' PCV pipe in mine to protect my drivers and other long clubs.

Con: Does not stand on its own.

Consider a used on off eBay since they last forever and you will use it so rarely. Smudges and wear are badges of honor you can get for free.

SKB.

I do not trust the airlines (or TSA) with my clubs in any soft sided case.

Look on Craigslist. I've bought 2 standard sizes for $20 each and the staff bag size for $40.

I have the original basic version of the Cargo Golf Pro-- had it for over 10 years and used it many times without problems. {Prior to the Cargo, I had a soft body design travel golf club bag and had to sign damage waivers at check in that the airline wasn't responsible for damage. Since, purchasing the Cargo Golf Pro, I have no worries that my clubs will arrive safely. The Cargo is economical, compact, and rigid. I have a belly putter and have no problems fitting all my clubs in the Cargo Golf Pro. Rigid-hard body design will withstand the abuse your bags experience by the airlines. Compact--easily fits in the trunk of the smallest rental cars. Economical--cheaper than the competition. When I get home, sometimes I'll be lazy and it'll stay as my regular bag (fits on my push cart).

I would recommend shelling the money to buy a quality travel bag. You're protecting clubs that could potentially be worth more if they break than the travel bag/case. Plus you will never need a travel case again unless something drastic changes.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
