Hey guys I'm thinking about sending my 4 vokey wedges (46,50,56-changing to 55,60) to wedgeworks and getting the shafts changed out as well as the lengths and lies changed to match my irons. I was fitted for my regular AP2 irons as 1* flat and. 5" short on ns pro 105t shafts. My question is should I try to match the wedge shafts with my irons? A problem that comes up though is vokey wedgeworks only provides kbs, dg, and px shafts. Is there a shafts that they provide that's similar to the ns pro shafts I'm currently gaming on my irons? Thanks a bunch guys! Lee

I sent my vokeys last month to Wedgeworks to get the same thing you're interested in.  They did a phemoninal job and their customer service outstanding.  Every question I had was answered via email within 24 hours (usually faster) with detailed responses.  I would email them about your shaft question.  I'm sure they can help you out.

Using the same shaft as your irons will provide you with a better feeling wedge for full and 3/4 shots but often times less feel on the short greenside shots. It will typically lower the flight a little, and lower the spin a little. Going with a designated wedge shaft can improve the feel on less than full shots and increase the spin, but full shots can feel soft or launch real high. I'm not sure if Wedge works offers it, but Nippon makes a wedge shaft that should play similar to the iron shafts, but improve the feel and spin around the green. I play PX Flighted in my irons, and I personally didn't care for the DG shafts that are in most wedges. I was looking for something that felt a little more like my irons. One suggestion I heard from several people/sites was to take an 8 iron shaft and butt trim it to the wedge length. This would provide wedge shaft characteristics on the same shaft thats in my irons. Others recommended to try one of the wedge specific shafts (DG spinner, Rifle spinner, KBS Hi-Rev, Nippon Pro WV). I didn't care for the DG or KBS and couldn't find a Nippon to try near me. Settled on the Rifle spinner and I'm very pleased with it. Great feel and spin around the green, yet still stiff enough so I don't lose feel on full shots.

Thanks guys! I called wedgeworks and they can custom fit the same shafts on my wedges. Seems like 95% of tour pros match their iron shafts to their wedges so it's probably the best idea and at most take a softer flex. Thanks again

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
