Results of playing with clubs 1" too short?

Here's my issue.  I'm tall and have a previous set of clubs that I got fitted for (first set ever), and it's time for me to upgrade.  According to the charts I need an extra 1" on my irons.  My issue is the extra cost to get that extra inch.  The fitting is free, but I am limited to current models of clubs which are more expensive, and I can't order online.  Not ordering on online will cost me 10% in sales tax where I live and I can't use another 10% coupon code for online purchases.

Last week I used my friends Burner 2.0 irons and I loved they way they feel.  I currently have Nichalsons and they are OK.  It looks like the burners are a little longer than standard clubs and there wasnt much of a noticable difference in length when compared to my clubs.  So there might only be 1/2" difference between my current clubs.  I used them and it didn't affect my stance much at all and the lye appeared OK.

What do you guys think?  Especially you taller golfers?  I don't want to invest this money and have clubs for years that don't work correctly for me.

If you used clubs an inch shorter than you were fitted for and changed nothing else in your setup or swing, then the lie would be too flat for you and you would tend to push everything.

Well I naturally probably had to bend slightly more over but not enough to notice.  Like when you grip an inch further down on a club you can usually still hit with your lye fine.

Remember, you can order online and save the sales tax if the company you order from does not have a store in your state. Remember a lot of coupons do not cover any real brand name clubs either.

When I bought my irons, I ordered from Austads and was able to get them fitted (I had all of the info for them) - and no sales tax since they are located in one of those highly unpopulated states.

Why don't you get fitted for clubs? Find out for sure.

If clubs are too short you would tend to hit the irons out on the toe.

If you got clubs from the factory, they would give you the extra length for minimal upgrade cost.
