I've really been enjoying my time on this forum. There's a lot of great discussion, instruction, debate etc... The problem for me is I'm a lefty and the majority of the language used in these forums is righty specific. Occasionally someone will flip the directions in consideration of the lefty reader but for the most part we're forced to read with a mirror (so to speak).

My plea is that posters (both righty and lefty) use more neutral language... so instead of describing something from "left to right" use "outsided - in" or "open/closed" with respect to a target or direction... Just as a courtesy for all us "wrong handers" out there lol...

anyone agree with me here or should I just suck it up cuz i'm outnumbered?

Suck it up.

Just kidding.  If you are posting something in the form of a quest ion, most here will try to answer based on your "Righty/Lefty" notification in your avatar box thingy, from what I have noticed, anyway.  The "opened/closed" to target reference is used quite often.

You could always convert over to the right side, lol.  I was born left handed, but was converted in school, as I was a messy writer.

lol, thanks.

I hadn't noticed that about people responding according to the righty lefty icon... but i haven't seen a whole lot of chatter from lefties either. I guess the majority of my interaction on these forums isn't so much in the form of asking questions as it is reading older posts or threads. So even though its definitely helpful to address a lefty icon person with lefty language, I'm (we) are still at a disadvantage reading through most other posts/threads dominated by righties.

Some other neutral terminology that would help... front/back arm or top/bottom hand instead of left right...

But hey, I don't wanna beat down on this too hard... just trying to raise awareness to whoever's listening.

Thanks for your comment :)

LOL.....after awhile, you will adapt and easily be able to convert all the jargon for "LEFTY" purposes.     Hang in there!!!  After awhile, you won't even notice yourself flipping all the advice for your purposes.

I've been playing for 43 years. It's just natural for me to reverse everything re golf. I will even use 'right handed' language (e.g. left arm straight) but I've already flipped it in my mind. It's a right hander's world & I don't expect anything to change, your plea notwithstanding.

You know how it is to be left-handed. For those that don't...

Between the golf books I've read, instructional video's I've watched, and this forum I just automatically translate left for right, right for left.  If someone writes they keep there left arm straight, I read it as right arm.  You'll have an easier time just reversing it compared to trying to get all the righties here to change terms or think lefty.

LOL yup. That's what I found humorous when we were, ahem, 'debating' the lost club thing. I think in one of those posts I even said uh guys, you do realize I'm left-handed, right? Why in the hell would I keep a right-handed club I found? It's totally useless to me.

But you know how it is...once they get their hooks into you, they ain't letting go, facts notwithstanding.

Oh, you're good then. Who would want forged Mizunos anyway?

Thanks! Yes, on that shot I was playing for a draw (the face is a little shut). I aimed at the bunker on the left with a little draw. The hole just sets up for a left-to-right shot. That's #16 on HMB Ocean course. Great little par 4.
