I did... and I even called the pro shop when I was on the course 6 times or so.

THe people on the phone kept saying there's a tough 4 and 5 par and ppl always have trouble and it'll open up in hole #8 .

Open up my @$$ . . .

They simply didn't do their stinkin job. 4 groups on one hole and 3 groups on the next hole? C'mon....

The slow players whoever or whatever reason they are slow are paying customers and to me as long as they aren't dicking around on the course breaking any rules than they have just as much right to be there as me.  No group should have to pick up the ball because they are playing poorly,

I'm sorry, but I disagree. Letting people play thru doesn't solve the root of the problem. Sometimes you just gotta pick up.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I just try to relate to how other golfers feel I've had bad days where I've taken a few gentlemens snowmans but I still don't think its right to make every golfer that is having a poor round pick up a golf ball.

Ultimately in your situation the course marshal should have been better maybe taken a drive down to what hole you are on and ask the group ahead of you to let you play through.  Remember the golf course is a business and they don't want to kick anyone off or ruin their game regardless of skill because whether you are a scratch or 50 handicap you still pay the same price.

I know how you feel, mosnas, but again, think of others first before yourself.

I've had bad days... and you know what, I always give up looking for my $4 ball when I hit it into the rough from the tee box and just go to the fairway and drop a ball,

so that I don't back anyone up. And when my driver is not being nice to me, I just hit irons.

No matter what, it's not right for other people to suffer because 1 person in the front is having a bad day and is not picking up his ball.

I play in the afternoons on the weekends, since we have to wait until after 2PM to walk.  Usually tee off around 2:30 or 3:00 and generally all the horrible traffic is gone and we get to play at our pace.  At that time of the evening, if we're in a foursome and playing a bit slow (we sometimes do, and we all know it, but we're out there just having a good time) we let a lot of people play through us, simply because we're not in any hurry.  When I'm by myself or with a regular playing partner and we're known to finish 18 walking in around 3.5 hours, I've never had a problem playing through most people at that time of day.  Later in the afternoons is when it's mostly members walking (we're the only ones allowed to walk on the weekends, so it's not hard to tell who's a member) and everyone seems to respect each other a lot more.  It's during the peak hours of 8AM-2PM when everyone and their brother is trying to get in a round before they're wives said they had to be home that it's a problem.

I choose to avoid those times, because either way, fast or slow, the people who play in the evenings are usually better golfers and members who respect each other.

Actually this happened when we started playing starting 3pm and 4pm . . . .

Again, I don't know what's going on, even the golf director said that this is the first in 20 years they are like that...

Last time I played was a quick 9 at a local muni and the 4some ahead of me were pretty slow. So I practiced putting a lot. Beautiful afternoon, peaceful, birds singing and lots of putting practice on actual greens. It was a great round.

I yes lost balls is one thing that drives me off my rocker.  Like look until the group ahead is off the green any longer and I get mad.  Nothing makes me more mad then guys looking for a $3 golf ball.  If you care that much about the ball or spent that much then clearly you should not be playing it.  That is the only time I ever lose my temper and maybe lose patience.  Anywho after that rant I understand where you come from a bit better.  Best suggestion find a new course or maybe talk to the pro at the course.

    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
    • I had the D-9's a while back, thought the stock Wilson grips were rubbish.  I put Pure grips on them. Pure is now out of business but available on Golfworks.  Currently some colors in stock as of today. PURE Wrap Golf Grips - The GolfWorks PURE Golf's tackiest grip, the Wrap features a perforated wrap design and is ideal for golfers that prefer a slightly softer, more muted feel at impact.
