Pleasure to be on this forum with you all. It's been 15 years since I got my first set of clubs and about time I got into it seriously. I'm out here in the middle of the Michigan thumb if anyone can relate. Anyways, I can't wait to learn more from you guys and hopefully I can give back some good information. And remember, you'll hit a 20 yard fairway 9% of the time, and a 2 inch branch 90% of the time

dude I haven't had those vanilla colas for a while. They're so good. I remember Pepsi Jazz!

They are darn good. I haven't had jazz but pepsi blue was pretty good too. And thanks for the avatar, working from an iPhone on this end but I like it!

I am new to this site as well. Tried to get back into playing a couple years ago after not playing for about 25 years, but money got tight. Things are better now and I try to play at least once a week and practice a few times a week. Got to play 72 holes last week! It was great. I'd like to start carding some lower scores to lower my handicap because I want to play in the State Amateur next year and you have to be a 7 or less handicap. I have been playing in scrambles so as to get comfortable with people watching me. Can't say I really like the whole "best ball" format but whatever. Played in a 2 man scramble last week, my partner's attitude went down the tubes badly. I would hit a good shot, so he just figured we would play mine so he didn't even try. I won't be playing with him again.

I think the biggest thing I work on is the 6 inches between the ears - the mental aspect. I can put myself in the middle of the fairway with 100 yards to the pin, and then double bogey. (happened today) I feel a lot of variables are coming together and my game is gonna take a really good turn as long as keep practicing and playing consistent.

Good to be here

That's good to hear. If I'm not mistaken you may need to get some sub-full swing yardages down for the wedges. You may have heard this before but if your swing was a clock and 6 is address position 9 being to your right (for a right hander), imagine your club as the hour hand and stop your backswing at 7,8,9 o'clock and so on and strike the ball with a consistent pace on all of your shots and you can figure in different yardages for the same club. Try it for all of them

Funny you say that, The "clock" analogy is exactly what I think about when practicing.
