First time playing Match Play, tips?

Hahaha, thanks.  I will try.  If I make the college team I will get better so fast and be playing that course almost every day, then dominate that tournament next year :D .. very slim chance i'll make the team though, to be honest.

For 1st time match play for a high handicapper (21), what would your tips be playing against low, mid, and fellow high handicapper?

I'm going to go contrarian here.  Ignore all of the gamesmanship stuff in either direction and just play your game,  Bobby Jones, a pretty fair match play player, said that he got good at match play once he started ignoring his opponent and concentrated on beating Old Man Par.  If that is good enough for Bobby . . .

Was going to give this exact same quote.  Focus on your game, what you can control and ignore all the other distractions that can happen in match play.  If you play well but lose you still have the satisfaction of playing a good round.
