I haven't posted my swing here, and since I have commented on many others swing I felt I should put mine up. I am working on keeping my elbows together as well as extension.

I've been Playing Golf for: 15 years, man has it been that long?

My current handicap index or average score is: 5.8

My typical ball flight is: Straight, fade

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push/fade and occasional pull

solid lag man.  your head stays nice and still.

i'm struggling with a push myself, so i can't offer much commentary in that dept.

Great looking swing! Is the hips maybe turning a bit to early at the beginning of the downswing?

Yeah tipping my head back has been an issue for many years now. It stems from all that keep your head behind the ball to hit a draw stuff early range pros tried to teach me. It causes me to hang back and all hell breaks loose from there.

An update. Still a work in progress. Mainly working on A2 this week. Still tipping back, but it is less now.

Real quick, but I'd stop worrying about A2 and turn past 60° on your backswing. More extension (stretch the right side of your body, ankles to armpits) both sooner and faster.

Here is the latest. I have been working on cleaning up my leg work. It is really slow progress. I think this change will take me a long time. Helping to remove some unwanted axis tilt. And also help my right leg from kicking in and helping with a better exit.

Head looks like it is staying on the wall better.  I like how your pitching the right elbow too.  Have you tried the 5SK right toe drill?  Where the toes on the trail foot lift up during the swing?

They don't during the swing - you lift them up at address and keep them lifted.

I'd still like to see a backswing go beyond 60° Michael. :)

Thanks, Mike. I don't have a DTL version, he really has wonderful right arm movement to P2. I have been working so hard not to let my right arm get past my shirt seem it might explain why I can't get my shoulders to turn enough.

I am really trying to stretch it out. It might seem like I did not take your advice from last time but I did, and I am trying.

Yeah the reason he does is because he stays more "flexed over" (with a steady head) from 1-2 which is easier to have what some people call elbow position #1.  Helps the upper arm fold softly into the rib cage (in front of the shirt seam).  I agree with Erik's recommendation from Dec, in that swing you stayed flexed over too much throughout the backswing but I just think you need to crank up the rotation now, suggesting you feel it in the trunk.  Put a tee or glove under that right armpit and turn that sternum to the camera on the back swing.  Interested to see how the picture looks then.

I am really trying to stretch it out. It might seem like I did not take your advice from last time but I did, and I am trying.

To add to this, if you think about it in 3D space, if you turn your torso MORE but keep the right elbow in the same place, it'll be farther in front of the shirt seam.

Lack of turning (or slow turning rates) lead to wanting to feel like you finish the backswing, so you are MORE likely to retract and externally rotate the shoulder and bend the right elbow more. think about it this way: if I turned your shoulders 30° and told you to make a full backswing, what would you do? Now what if I turned your shoulders 120°?

Turn more. And do it the way we've talked about.

It'll help your rates on the downswing too. Probably won't do much with your knee work, but it may since you'll have more time to slide forward.

P.S. We see LOTS of good players who only turn as little as you do. Very arms/hands reliant golf swings. Understanding the proper turning tends to add distance and accuracy.

Really good feedback guys. I will be back in a few weeks after spending some time to get the pictures right.

Yes, what I meant.  Just poorly worded.

lol Different colors so he can keep track of which swing goes to what student.  Notice the pants are pulled up and his collar is up?  Can see his ankles.  He'll also shoot video with the pants lower, collar up, collar down, visor in different positions, visor with the line, without the line.   So that combination of collar up, pants pulled up, orange pants, is a specific swing for a specific student.

    • Day 323 - Opposite of yesterday, focusing more on taking a full backswing than anything else.
    • Day 139: worked on putting for a while. Did the two cups drill for bead.
    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
