How do I loft on approach?

Nicely settled down there isn't it...

1st, i would know i would be getting little spin out of that lie

2nd, it looks slightly an uphill stance

From that lie i would play it like a bunker shot. I would widen my stance a bit, play the ball roughly in the center of my stance. Keep my knees flexed a bit more. Open the clubface to were i want the ball to start at. Then i just hit it like a bunker shot, Probably about an 1" behind the ball. The bounce on the wedge should help push the grass under the club rather than dig into the grass, even if you get a bit underneath it it should land softly. Its tough to hit that shot like a pitch because the clump of grass behind the ball, you could end up duffing it and the ball would probably hit the bank and end up back at your feet.

      Yes.  Did he not hit the range before the round? When my first few pre-round drives aren't what I expect, the first thing I check is my driver settings, in case they changed.  I am on my second adjustable driver and I am still not trusting that golf gremlins don't change it between rounds. The second thing I check is my alignment and setup, and that is far more often the culprit than my settings. In any case, there are some simple things that I imagine should be on a professional player's pre-round checklist that I am surprised when they aren't.  One of those is the settings for any adjustable clubs.
