True i'm 26 handicap but i can hit a one iron with solid contact,no different than hitting a 5 iron to me,just 1 iron is a longer club,i obviously cant hit it as long as some of the guys on here,i have a spare 1 iron in good condition so want to make use of it

People used to tell me "nobody can hita 1 iron" all the time.  I guess my brain never got the message.  If it works for you, there's no reason not to hit it.

The most difficult distance in golf is the six inches between your ears.

i hit one of these hollow driving irons last year for a while when I was struggling with my 3 wood http://www.ebay.com/itm/KNIGHT-15-5-DRIVING-IRON-RIGHT-HAND-BUBBLE-GRAPHITE-INTERMEDATE-FLEX-41-1-2-/230836987953?pt=Golf_Clubs&hash;=item35bef4e831

These were the first hybrids & are now cheap.    I like the 15 degree version of them, not the more popular 19 degree version.    Also, best club ever for punching out from under trees...

Hybrids now. Longest iron in my bag is a 4i, and I wouldn't add a longer iron in for the sole purpose for using it off the tee on a couple of short par-4s. I'll just the the 3-hybrid, my 200-yard club.

Ditto for me.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

I dont hit 50 out 50 great shots with a 1 iron, maybe i gave that impression??,i dont hit any club at such a percentage,i'm sure most of the low H/C on here would be able to hit the 1iron good, even if they have never tried it

I you can hit it solidly and consistently you should use it. That's all that matters. Any club that goes farther and as straight as others in your bag is worthwhile IMO.

For me, my 3 and 4 hybrids are my go to clubs for anything from 175-200 yards or off the tee on a shorter par 4. I hit them better than my 3 or 4 irons.

Amen to that, brother.  If I was still depending on length instread of smart, my handicap would be about 20.

I have two Callaway Fusion hybrids 18 and 22. I use them on short tight par fours and some mid range ones as well.

I've decided to resurrect an old thread instead of making a new one... I went in today to hit a PING Rapture 2 iron (driving iron) and fell in instant love with it. I'm getting lower spin, launch and longer carry than my 4 hybrid. Curious what you guys think of the club if you've hit it?

I cycle 2,3, and 4 iron mizuno FLI Hi's in and out of my bag depending on the wind and find that they are just very useful clubs. Regular hybrids just make you have to work really hard to flight them lower but they are doing what they are designed to do. The trajectory of my FLI Hi's is medium with the 2 and 3 and mid hid with the 4 off the deck and they just work in windy conditions. I haven't hit the PING (probably doesn't come in lefty anyway!) but I bet it is a pretty useful club in certain conditions.

Believe it or not it does come in lefty, like I am. I do agree it's a completely different ball flight.. Love it.
